Cuisinart 12-cup coffeemaker CBC-00SA3

After extensive researching and reading many reviews on the many brands and types of coffeemakers available, I finally decided to purchase this Cuisinart 12-cup coffee maker, model CBC-00SA3 last year. Now I've been using this coffeemaker for the last 8 months and I must say that I give it a hearty two thumbs up! This coffee maker is the best that I have ever used, and I have bought nearly a dozen through the years.
This attractively designed machine turns out the best tasting coffee I've ever had from a home coffee maker and it does so very quickly. The charcoal water filter really does eliminate that plastic aftertaste that you sometimes get with some of the other coffee makers on the market.
I also really like the Brew Pause feature that is standard on this coffeemaker. It makes it possible for me to pour a cup of coffee before the brewing cycle finishes (perfect for those "gotta have my coffee now!" mornings), without making a huge mess. Another great thing about this model is the fact that the heater plate has 3 different settings from which to choose. You can set it on the medium or lowest setting when entertaining, so the coffee stays hot (but doesn't evaporate or get that burned coffee taste) for guests, for a long period of time.
It has automatic shutoff feature that you can set from 0 to 4 hours. This comes in very handy for those of us who are forgetful! And, while on the forgetful subject, this little coffee maker also has an indicator light that glows when the unit needs to be cleaned and any calcium buildup can be removed.
Another important thing for me is the aesthetically pleasing design. The black and chrome combination along with the elegant shape makes this coffeemaker look really beautiful. I had several friends commenting on it.
There are only a couple of minor drawbacks to this coffeemaker that I have discovered. First, the fill line for the water is located on the inside, instead of the outside of the container, which makes it kind of hard to see when the water level is correct. Also, the LED clock is fairly dim so you can't really use it as a clock; at least, not from a distance. Overall, I'd definitely buy this same unit again! It's a very good coffeemaker for the small amount of money that I have spent.
