Delonghi DCF212T 12-Cup Drip Coffee Maker
I am a fan of the Delonghi DCF212T 12-Cup Drip Coffee Maker and have been using this model coffee machine for the past three months. This is the third automated coffee brewer that I have tried in the past year but now I have found one that more than meets all of the requirements I demanded.
This coffee maker is lightweight so that I can easily move it from counter to shelf if I choose, and the sturdy construction is definitely a big plus. Some of the features that I like include:
The 12 cup capacity which gives me the convenience of brewing almost any amount of coffee I need. This little machine is an efficiency expert and I can use it for a quick cup of java at any time of the day, or create enough strong coffee to treat an entire roomful of guests.
Easy access at the front of the machine that lets me add water , coffee and filters without needing to move the coffee maker even once. If you have ever had to fight and struggle with some of those other coffee makers you will instantly see how helpful this one step, front access is.
An Aroma Button that lets me add an extra boost of flavor and enhance the aromatic fragrance of brewing coffee with just one click. When I activate the unique Aroma Button it begins a cycle of brewing that saturates all of the coffee grounds over a longer period of time so that the beverage has maximum flavor, richer taste and an incredible "fresh coffee" fragrance.
There is even a digital timer on the Delonghi DCF212T 12 cup drip coffee maker that has 24 hour programming capabilities.
I don't have to worry about coffee burning in the bottom of the carafe because there is even a 2 hour shut off signal that works automatically.
Some additional features that are very nifty to mention include an indicator that shows me when the water level is low; a unique filter design that keeps all of the grounds neatly trapped so they don't enter the coffeepot; a storage tray that allows me to keep my coffee cups warm continuously and a pause and serve program that makes it possible to pour a fresh, delicious cup of coffee at any point in the brewing cycle.
The only thing I don't like about this particular coffee maker is the fact that it only comes in a black color. I would much prefer a litle pop of color for my kitchen such as brilliant red or electric blue. Other than this it fits all of my brewing needs completely.Editor's note
The selling point of this Delonghi coffee maker is the front access. As you can see
from the pictures, you put in both the coffee and water via the front of the coffee
maker, which is very convenient.
This is a clever design and most users absolutely love this feature.
However, there are some who find pouring in the water without spilling rather difficult.
Overall, the Delonghi DCF212T has only average customer reviews. Users complain of leaking (which leads to coffee burning on the hot plate), coffee being weak or not hot enough.
If you are after the front-loading design, there are not many other coffee makers like that around. One that I know of is the KitchenAid JavaStudio - a programmable coffee maker that also has only average reviews. If you do know about others, please leave a comment about it on this page.
