Keurig B30 Mini Brewer

Keurig B30 is essentially a scaled-down version of the popular Keurig B40. Just like other Keurig coffee brewers, the B30 mini brewer is very easy to use and it can make a variety of coffees, teas and hot chocolate. The product is pleasing to the eye and seems very solidly built. It is available in black, white and red.

So what exactly is the difference between B30 and its bigger cousins? Well, there are quite a few. To start with, the B30 does not have any water tank - you have to pour in fresh water every time you want to brew a cup. This also means that, unlike in the other Keurig brewers, the water is not pre-heated and as a result it takes longer to brew your cup of coffee. Still the brewing time is very respectable - under 3 minutes.

The B30 brews 8 oz. cup, there is no choice over the size of your beverage. So you cannot adjust the strength of your coffee by selecting a smaller size. However, you can make stronger coffee simply by pouring in less water. There is also no choice of water temperature - it is set at 192°F.

On a positive side, B30 is considerably quieter than B40 or B60 - a great point if you get up before the rest of the family. Some users find the higher-end Keurig coffee makers to be too noisy and to vibrate a lot. There is no such issue with B30.

This mini-brewer from Keurig is designed to be portable and as a result it is lightweight and it does not take up much space. The B30 is often purchased by people who have a small kitchen with limited counter space, those who want to use it in an office or by students who live in a dorm. Keurig B30 has excellent customer reviews. Most owners are very satisfied with the product. Just as with any product, there are some complaints - but they are mostly fairly minor:

• Since you need to pour in fresh water for each cup, B30 is a bit of a pain to use if you are making coffee for more than 2 people. Many users find that it's most convenient to pour in the water directly from a water bottle.
• It may take you a while to find the mug that will fit under the spout - you may need to buy a mug specifically for that purpose.
• Some customers would prefer the brewed coffee to be a bit hotter. You can reduce this problem if you preheat the mug before you brew the coffee.
• There are people who mind using the k-cups as they are not very environmentally friendly. However, you can buy a simple device called My K-Cup that allows you to use your own coffee - it's less convenient, but better for the environment and considerably cheaper.

All in all, Keurig B30 is an excellent personal coffee maker that is particularly suitable in situations where you don't want to make any mess - be it on your desk in the office, in a hotel room or in a dorm.
