Keurig Platinum Gourmet Single-Cup Home Brewing System
Keurig B70 Platinum is the top of the range home coffee maker from Keurig and it has excellent customer reviews. It has got all the features that Keurig B60 Special Edition has. So what are the additional features that you don't get with the B60 and do they justify the price difference?
Large 60oz water reservoir
One of the features that you are very likely to love is the large water reservoir. It is 12oz larger than the lower end models. With Keurig B60 you will need to refill after every 6 cups (assuming you use the regular 7.25oz brewing size). With Keurig Platinum B70 that is reduced to once after every 8 cups of coffee. It does make a difference especially when you use your coffee maker a lot.
Four brewing sizes
When you brew your coffee with Keurig Platinum B70, you can choose from four different brewing sizes: 5.25, 7.25, 9.25 and 11.25oz. You can set any one of these to be your default brewing size so that it will be automatically preselected for you. It saves you pressing a button to change the size.
The smaller the size you select the stronger the coffee is going to be. With the largest 11.25oz size it's best to use only the Extra Bold K-cups otherwise the coffee may be too weak.
Quiet Brew Technology
This is the quietest Keurig home coffee machine. It is quieter than the other models. Having said that, there is still quite a lot of vibration from the pump just like with all the Keurig coffee makers. It is important that you place the coffee maker on a steady, solidly built counter. I certainly would not recommend putting the Keurig coffee machine on any sort of unsteady table - otherwise you may hear a lot of noise caused by the vibration whenever the machine draws water from the reservoir.
Advanced Brewing Technology
Keurig Platinum B70 is using an advanced brewing technology. It brews the coffee a bit faster than the other models but the difference in taste of your coffee is not very big. I think you don't need to consider this feature when deciding which model to get.
The programming interface is easier to use than on Keurig B60. It is also a bit easier to close the lid after you insert the K-cup. Finally, the B70 Platinum looks really sleek. I find it more aesthetically pleasing than the Keurig B60 Special Edition.
Just like with other Keurig coffee makers, most users just love their Keurig B70 and the customer reviews are excellent.
