Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker JWX27

I bought the Mr. Coffee 12-cup programmable coffee maker (model number JWX27) online nearly two years ago despite being nervous about buying a new machine without actually getting to see it first. But so far, it has met my expectations and continues to brew a good tasting cup of coffee even though we use it continually.

The machine's brew strength selector really comes in handy since my husband prefers his coffee much stronger than I do and the programmable clock/timer is a feature that we use every single day.

One of my pet peeves about coffee is when it becomes stale or burnt tasting after sitting or being heated for too long. This Mr. Coffee coffee maker has another handy feature that lets you know how long it has been since the batch was brewed (the Fresh Brew Timer) so you'll always know how fresh the pot is.

I also really like the built-in water filter as another coffee maker I owned in the past needed a new filter every month or so, and most times it was forgotten until the coffee had a noticeably unpleasant taste to it.

Sometimes, small spills occur when pouring coffee from the carafe, which is a bit inconvenient but not too bothersome. However, one other thing I would change about this particular coffee maker from Mr. Coffee is its inability to select a batch size. And, the audible tone to let you know the pot is done brewing is also rather faint, but for me, I would actually prefer a lower tone instead of a loud obtrusive one especially for early mornings when the household isn't quite awake before the coffee is ready.

While it isn't fancy, it's made mostly of plastic rather than stainless steel like a lot of machines today, the Mr. Coffee 12-cup programmable coffee maker JWX27 is inexpensive, performs well, and looks nice sitting on the kitchen counter.

The Mr Coffee JWX27 is relatively inexpensive given the features it offers. Some users seem to love this coffee maker while others find the coffee too weak.
